Circle of Song

Join Us

Circle of Song is a multi-generational community chorus that sings a wide variety of music in four part harmony. Attractive to experienced singers who are good readers and looking for a challenge musically, it is also a teaching/learning chorus for those who want to become better readers where the talents and abilities of all members are utilized creatively. Instrumental accompaniment comes from within, so if you play something, we can use that also. Membership is $25/year for students and $30/year for adults.

Circle of Song often collaborates with local instrumentalists also. Over the years we have performed with accordions, strings, brass, woodwinds and percussion. Recently the Resurrection Brass has been added as a feature at COS concerts. Jim Pavao and Julie Rawson are members of both groups. Steve Aliquo and Joey Orszulak join us to make a quartet.

Circle of Song sings from September through May, every Thursday from 7:00 - 9:00 PM either in the Quabbin Regional High School chorus room, Barre Town Hall, or at the Barre Congregational Church. We have 2 major concerts per year at Christmas time and in May with other special concerts sprinkled throughout the year. The chorus sings a lot of classical, world music, American traditional, spirituals, and anything gorgeous that comes our way and suits our fancy. Originally started by Beth Bryant and Julie Rawson, COS is solely directed by Julie now with regular guest directing appearances by other local musicians.
